Just now: Following our Christmas concert Saturday 17th December 2011 4pm, we now have a winter break until 26-Jan-2012. Then we start again singing in Lutherkirken, Randersgade 3, Copenhagen Ø. You are welcome to join us!

You are welcome to join us singing! We welcome especially people of non-Danish origin (we like diversity!!). Of course, we are sometimes sing in Danish, but you will receive lots of support!

Carmen Curlers is a choir for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in Copenhagen.

Our repertoire is highly varied, ranging from classical works and traditional Nordic songs to rock, disco and contemporary pop in different languages.

We rehearse every Thursday evening 19:15-21:45 in Luther Kirken (Church of Luther), Randersgade 3, Copenhagen, Østerbro (Bus line 3 just to the door).

Carmen Curlers now have 24 members from 30 to 70 years old. Our conductor and artistic director is Gisli Magna, who was borne in Iceland.

We are always looking for new members, and you are very welcome to pop in and see if it is something for you. Rehearsals are, of course, in Danish, but even if you have only a limited knowledge of the language then you should be able to get by. We have members from all over the world - just now people with roots in Ireland, England, Iceland, and Japan!

It may be an advantage if you can read sheet music, but we record all songs as mp3 files, so it is not an absolute necessity.

However, we require a high attendance at rehearsals and some preparation for our concerts. But. Don't be scared. Most of us are really just 'ordinary guys' who just love to sing. Like you. So take the chance and come for a tiny audition, where we only check that you are able to sing in tune...

We give two or three concerts a year, one of these being a Christmas concert held in a church.

In the past, we have taken part in the Various Voices festivals in Holland (1995), Germany (1997,2001), France (2005) and UK (2009). We will attend the next Various Voices in Dublin (2014).

Carmen Curlers is the place where you can get to know other gay and lesbian people and meet friends for life.
